Dear Encinitas Community Member,
Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual Encinitas Half Marathon on Sunday March 4, 2018. We invite you to come out and cheer on the runners are they pass through our beach town! We understand the race impacts your routine for a few hours, but we’d like to share with you the positives aspects of the race of which you may not be aware. Surfing Madonna Oceans Project nonprofit is committed to raising awareness, protecting our coastline and educating our youth on the importance of keeping our ocean alive and healthy! Over $300,000 has been given back so far!

Coast Highway (Encinitas Blvd to Avocado) – 5:30 am – 9:00 am
Coast Highway – North and South bound traffic will be closed from 5:30 am – 9:00 am
All residents west of N. Coast 101 between Avocado St. and B street can exit the area from Neptune Ave. Entering the area will be restricted during the above listed timeframe.
3rd St (E St. to K St) 5:30 am – 11 am
3rd St (E St. to K St) will be closed from 5:30 am – 11:30 am.
To Enter/Exit: We strongly encourage you to park on the east side of 3rd Street. However, safety personnel will be stationed at F St. and I St to allow vehicles through at their discretion. Please be prepared for delays!
4th Street (between C St and E St) 5:30 am – 11 am
4th Street (between C St and E St) will be closed from 5:30 am – 11:00 am.
Residents that need to leave and/or return to the area during this timeframe are encouraged to park east of 4th Street and walk to their vehicles.
Coast Highway San Elijo State Beach Campground
Coast Highway, north and south bound are closed from K Street to Chesterfield from 5:30 am – 10:45 am. The San Elijo State Beach Campground will not be accessible during this time.
Solana Beach Coast Hwy & Plaza Street
Coast Hwy between Chesterfield and Plaza Street will be open to north and sound bound traffic, however both directions of travel will be in the normal northbound lanes. The south bound lanes will be closed for runners, which prohibits the normal entrance/exit of the area.
To exit the area – residents can exit via Pacific Avenue to Plaza St.
To enter – residents can enter the area from Dahlia Street (Plaza Street heading west will be closed from 5:30 am – 10:30 am)
